Submitted by: Krista Rose from West Allis, WI
Category: Main Dish
Suggested Number of Servings: 10 Servings
Ingredients:
- 1-16oz pkg elbow macaroni.
- half a loaf of velveeta cheese, cubed, 1lb
- 2 cups of cheddar cheese, reserve 1/2 cup to put on the top when done mixing up.
- 1-2 cups of mozarella
- 8oz of muenster or provolone
- 16oz carton of cottage cheese, any curd
- 16oz carton of sour cream
- 1 stick of butter, cut into pats
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1-2c. milk
Instructions:
Cook the elbow macaroni til it is just starts to get tender but is yet a bit firm.
Drain, put in your big big crock pot.
To it add:
- half a loaf of velveeta cheese, cubed
- 2 cups of cheddar cheese, reserve 1/2 cup to put on the top when done mixing up.
- 1-2 cups of mozarella
- 8oz of muenster or provolone
- 16oz carton of cottage cheese, any curd
- 16oz carton of sour cream
- 1 stick of butter, cut into pats
- a little salt
Stir, add milk to fill in the gaps.
Top with remaining cheddar cheese.
Put crock on low for about 4-5 hours. Prior to serving, the last hour.. put up to high. this causes it to ‘burn’ and get crunchy around the bottom and top.. the best part.
Prep Time: 30 Minutes
Total Time: 330 Minutes
Additional Comments:
Just enjoy it. It is so filling. I made this for our wedding reception… bigger batch of course.. and there was nothing left.
And each time I made still today.. there are no leftovers.
You can also add other cheeses to your liking. Mexican white-soft cheese is very good. So is Gerrman butter cheese. Experiment a bit.
