You Can Fondue Too

Saturday, February 6th, 2010

Everyone looks for a unique way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with that special someone. Cookin’ Stuff manager, Ken Mitchell, says you can’t go wrong with the Cuisinart’s Electric three quart Fondue Pot. What makes this one so appealing is its versatility. It has eight different heat settings for everything from chocolate and cheese to beef, broth and seafood. People tend to get creative when it comes to fondue. I’ve been to events where the hosts melt dark chocolate and white chocolate and pour the two together to make a beautiful swirl. Personally, I like a beer-cheddar fondue with bread cubes and good sausage. The Cusinart Electric Fondue Pot serves up to 8 people and comes with steel forks and a terrific recipe book. It’s available online or in the store for $49.99
A less expensive option is “Fun-Do to Go” which is 13- piece, three in one Fondue Set, which includes a Stoneware Double Boiler Insert, safety burner, 6 stainless steel forks and one convenient plastic case with handle. It also includes a terrific recipe book. This set sells for $39.99.

Store Remodel Feedback

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

We’ve received dozens of compliments on our recent store remodel.
People love the wider aisles and the easy access shelving. Aesthetically, the store is brighter and looks so much tidier. (One of my pet peeves is sloppy product display and messy shelves).
If you haven’t stopped in, please visit soon.

SIDEWALK SALE HUGE SUCCESS !!!

Friday, March 21st, 2008

Like a good party, people came early and stayed late. Our March 15 Sidewalk Sale was one of our best EVER ! As usual the early birds showed up well before the 9 am start and we held them off as long we could, but eventually they stormed the parking lot and started SHOPPING !
With prices reduced by as much 50-75%, our outside inventory quickly dwindled.
Undaunted, determined shoppers headed inside as we experienced our biggest sales Saturday of the year.
We want to thank everyone for making the event so successful.

2008 SET to BE GREAT!

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

A belated Happy New Year to one and all.

The staff and I are still decompressing from another busy holiday season, but ready for our year long celebration of 35 years in business. Little did my mom, Jeanne, know when she opened our first store in Lomita in 1973 with a couple dozen products, that 35 years later Cookin’ Stuff would still be a thriving business.

We’ve added a few thousand products during the last three-plus decades, but remain diligent in our goal to provide the area’s cooks and bakers, the widest product selection, dedicated customer service all at competitive prices. We have some fun promotions on the calendar, so check back often so you don’t miss any.

Customers came, they shopped, then cracked open their fortune cookies and claimed their prizes !

The last weekend of September marked our 3rd Annual Fortune Cookie Weekend, where shoppers spending a minimum of $10 were eligible to select a fortune cookie from our big basket.
We had hundreds of happy winners all weekend and it was a great way to kick off our fourth quarter, which is our busiest time of year.

Congrats to all the “FORTUNATE” winners. Enjoy your prizes
